Day 34. April 25. On to Tilloo Cay. Miles 5.5. Total Miles 487.8

Day 34 Had a lazy morning and got some chores done - restocked the  refrigerator from freezer, cleaned the kitchen, did wash and even took a shower!   Sounds like fun? Bill got his tools and mask and flippers put away and set to reorganizing his supplies.  He is still finding "surprises", (usually tools) where he "hid" them when we originally loaded the boat. Weather still looks good for a Monday crossing, so we sill move today- not far- but will begin our journey south.  The outer islands here will provide good protection from the east winds we have been experiencing these past few days. Left the mooring on a rising tide to hug the shore of Elbow Cay, taking a route similar fo the day we went by dinghy to Tahiti Beach.  This ride will be less wet and much more calm! We pass houses on the bluffs and the passed White Sound where we had lunch at the Firefly Inn and Resort. Next we passed between Elbow Cay and Lubbers Quarters Cay.  This is where t...

Day 33 April. 24. Last Lay day in Hope Town

Day 33 Another glorious morning in the Bahamas.  Bill left to drop off our garbage and return to the hardware store to return the butane torch. He decided to rent a bike rather then walk and depend on being picked up by a local.  Plus he got some exercise! Along the way he was intrigued by all the signs left by fellow boaters and travelers on the island. SO he stopped to take a few pictures. I liked the last sign above which was added by a local!! My job today was cleaning tasks on the boat and preparing to leave Hope Town tomorrow.  We have 10 more miles of the Abacos to explore before we make the crossing to Eleuthera. Bill returned with a successful hardware visit and set to work on two projects he wanted to get done while in a quiet harbor.  He successfully added a bolt to make sure the anchor did not foul on itself and cleaned up and recaulked a fitting on the side deck. We celebrated by having lunch of conch fritters and then went into town.  Decided to wa...

Day 31 and 32 April 22-23 Lay days in Hope Town.

Day 31 Woke to another beautiful sunny day. Our first chore was to get the laundry done and take the trash out.    We dinghied over to the ferry dock and handed our trash over.  Literally handed over the bag of trash to a young man whose job is to collect trash from the mooring basin.  Trash pick up is every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.  Next we walked to the laundry and after waiting 20 minutes for the machines to be free,  I was able to get the clothes in. Met up with Gary from MV Juggernaut who came in to do his laundry after me.  This is a popular spot for boaters!!!  You have to buy tokens for the washer and the cost is $7 a load.  Will be wonderful to have clean sheets and towels!! Once back on the boat we had lunch and Bill tackled repairing the shower drain pump.  Luckily we had the spare part and he was able to make the repair. We relaxed on the flybridge with a soda and appetizer  to celebrate a successful repair...
