Woke early and drove to Atlanta to visit Cori and her family. We enjoyed sharing Mother’s Day with her and our two granddaughters. In fact, they wore us out!! We had fun times and created great memories- singing, dancing, going to the park and just plain being silly! Watching Mia’s ballet recital was a treat! Oma and Grandaddy are great at being silly!!
From Atlanta, we drove to Roanoke,VA to visit a college friend. It is always fun to share good food, laughter and reconnect and remember. Thanks Gary and Woody!
The next day we took off for Brewerton, NY reconnect with our boat. Our trip took us thru the mountains and valleys, forests, and cattle pastures and farmland of the Shenandoah Valley. Beautiful scenery!
Arriving in Brewerton, the boat was in the water waiting for us. Spent the rest of the day unloading the car and stowed the the supplies on the boat til late!! As the day wore on the temperature dropped to 50 degrees, so we bundled up and slept well.
We travelled through eight states. Enjoyed the spring temperatures, the new greenery and songbirds. (Had to look some of them up, but sure enjoyed their concerts.) The only glitch was Pennsylvania knew we were coming so they waited to do the much needed roadwork so we could see more of Pennsylvania while merging and traveling in one lane of traffic multiple times.
Will now focus on reacquainting our selves with the boat and it’s systems. Gotta try them all out to make sure all is working order. Then we have some last minute provisioning to do. Hope to finish up in the next day or two so we can head out.
