Day 40-41. 2nd year. June 29-30. Midland and beyond. Mile 24. Total 3333

The one and a half hour trip to Toronto's Airport went well.  We passed beautiful farmland and then the suburbs and industry of Toronto as we approached the airport.  Toronto is the largest city in Canada and its financial center.   Found Kyle at the airport and headed back to the boat.  Welcome to the boat Kyle! It was such a nice afternoon that we decided to take off to find an anchorage not too far away.   So we left Midland BayPort Marina and we will see how far we get! Well, we got to Indian Harbor, where we anchored before.  Will be a great place to explore with Kyle in the dinghy tomorrow.  But first Kyle had to be reintroduced to the boat- its electrical, water and plumbing systems.  All necessary stuff to know if living on the boat. After we got settled in, we had a late dinner and because it was a long day, especially for Kyle, we hit the sack. June 30 Lay day in Midland Woke to a lazy hazy day this morning.  The haz...

Day 38-40. 2nd year. June 27- 29. On to Midland. Mile 9. Total 3308

Later last night the misty rain creates a 180 degree rainbow that lasted for an hour.  Was Awesome! Today we woke to overcast and drizzly rain, which we hope will clear up in the next hour. Weighing anchor we headed south to Midland, ONT and Bay Port Marina.  Bay Port Marina is one of three large marinas in the area.  You can tell that boating is quite popular here! Noticed that one flag was flying the banner for the Buccaneers! Midland began as a trading town, first fur and lumber, the later grain.   Today the granary silos on the waterfront are covered in murals that depict the history of the town.  This mural theme is carried through to the downtown area also.  The town also sports three very large marinas that do boat repair and servicing, as well as winter storage of boats for the larger boats.  Midland is a big town with a population of 16,000, similar in size to Peterborough.  Most of the other towns we visited so far are much smaller...

Day 36-37 2nd year. June 25-26. Backtracking to Midland. Mile. 11 + 12 Total miles. 3287 / 3299

Unfortunately we woke up to smokey conditions this morning.  Guess the wildfires in Canada are still burning.  We did chores hoping the wind would pick up and dispel the smoke. We weighed anchor with still a bit of smoke in the air and retraced our steps through Go Home Bay and Bushby Inlet to Red Rock light and into the Small Boat Channel. After about two miles we veered east into Musquatch Channel and up to Longuissa Bay where we anchored for the night with a sailboat and three cruisers and our friends from On Business.  They caught up to us.  Actually they got here before us! We joined Twyla and Andy on their boat and enjoyed solving all the worlds problems and some good laughs!  They even donated a buoy for us to use as a marker for a anchor trip line. Since the smoke cleared out in the afternoon, we took a short dinghy ride around the small islands in the bay where we anchored.  And of course, Bill had to climb on the rocks.       ...
