Woke to another glorious cool and sunny day as we said good bye to Bay Port Marina and head back north into Georgian Bay for the final time this cruise. Will be heading to points undiscovered - by us anyway.
This morning the Canadian geese in the marina were having breakfast.
We passed lots of familiar landmarks.
Bill ever vigilant as Captain.
As we rounded O’Donnell Point and entered Twelve Mile Bay. We won’t go all the way in! And anchored in Wani Bay. Apparently this is a very popular anchorage as we got our selves settled and within 30 minutes four other boats joined the 4 boats that were already here.
Put the dinghy in the water and after conferring with a neighboring Canadian boater we headed off to explore all the channels, islands and the parkland in this area. On our return trip we talked to another Looper from Connecticut and shared experiences and stories.
Twelve Mile Bay is part of the Massasauga Provincial Park and is quite wild and natural. However there are no hiking trails accessible to boaters near here. So we were content to motor around all the islands and ogle at the rock formations and shoreline.
